Being part owner of Lady Rouge changed my life in a big way. I was always at work, and if I wasn’t, then I was home with my son and man. He didn’t like the fact that I had wanted to work with him, but I figured it would help him get some of the stress off him. He had been coming home later and later since Laila had quit, so it was time for me to step up and help my man the way any fiancée would. He didn’t even want to give me a chance. His ass thought I was trying to dance in this bitch, and I had to let it be known that I was not even that type to take my clothes off for money. All I wanted to do was help him out with the women. They were used to Laila, but now they needed to get used to me.

“Minnie, I’m not about to sit up here and go back and forth with you. You got the right one. I don’t work for you. You work for my man and me. If this is the way he let you talk to him or anybody, then I don’t understand why you still have a job.”

“Okay, and? I have my job because I’m the one who brings him in the most money.”

“No, that’s not true. Kasey is his top-dollar bitch here. You barely see what you were making at the other club, and maybe it’s because all you do is complain and think you’re better than the rest of the dancers. Let me bring you back down to two inches, sweetie. You’re not better than none of the other girls who dance.”

“Whatever.”

“The idea I have is to make sure you and all the girls see more money than y’all have ever seen. Do you know how many men love a good costume night? I swear y’all females swear y’all know everything, and y’all don’t.”

A knock on the door got my attention, making me look up when Korey walked in. I smiled and got up from my desk. Walking around, I kissed him on the lips, and he held me tightly while sliding his tongue in my mouth. Moving back, I put my hand on his chest.

“What’s going on in here?” he asked.

“Your girl wants us to start having a costume night. She doesn’t understand that some of us are used to the way things were at the old club, and it seems like she’s trying to come in and change things up. I don’t like that. You need to put her in her place before I quit,” Minnie told him before getting up and walking out of the office.

“I could snatch that little bitch up. This is your fault,” I snapped at him.

“Wait, how did this become my fault? I just walked through the door.”

“It’s your fault because you got her thinking she can just talk to people any kind of way. No wonder Laila quit.
